Shadows Dancing on the Wall
The lights from the parking lot cast a friendly glow
Across the bed sheets that we used to know
I drive by our old motel, sometimes I take a room
I sit on the bed with the lights off
Hoping, that you’re not really gone
And I keep seeing our shadows dancing on the wall
Do you remember that night when we forgot to pull the window shade
Your old man pulled up, he almost had us made
We rolled on the floor, laughing and carrying on
his bright headlights searching the room
We were so glad when he rolled on
But I wonder if he caught our shadows dancing on the wall
I wonder if he saw our shadows dancing on the wall
We turned on the lights got dressed, said goodbye and walked out into the bright sunlight
It seemed so easy just to drive away
We got in our cars and just turned the keys
but I wonder do you ever think about us and our dangerous times
I still get goose those bumps, we must’ve been out of our minds
Cause’ I keep seeing our shadows dancing on the wall
I reach out to touch, but they’re just shadows on the wall
I keep seeing our shadows dancing on the wall
